Embraer’s 2026 Africa Connectivity Report highlights a growing opportunity for airlines to expand direct services across the continent. The study identifies 55 intra-African city pairs currently without nonstop flights, despite having demand levels that could support direct operations.

The findings show that the challenge is not demand, but matching each market with the right aircraft and frequency. Many of these routes can be successfully served with right-sized aircraft, enabling airlines to improve efficiency, increase connectivity, and unlock new revenue opportunities.

The report also highlights recent progress, with new routes being launched, as well as strong traffic growth in several markets, reinforcing the potential for further network development.
